08 February 2019

8 February 2019, Duesseldorf/Grobbendonk: The Belgian logistics company Van Moer Logistics acquires the majority stake in Antwerp East NV Terminal from DP World.

The Antwerp East Terminal is strategically located on the Albert Canal in the heart of Grobbendonk's fast-growing industrial zone. In 2013, DP World launched the Antwerp East NV terminal in partnership with the Antwerp Port Authority as a green-field development. The terminal was developed into an established inland hub, offering excellent opportunities for warehousing and logistics solutions.

Dr. Martin Neese, Managing Director DP World Inland, comments: "With Van Moer, we have found an ideal partner who is well placed to carry forward the terminal’s capabilities and leverage it’s strategic location. Van Moer will continue to invest in the terminal, ensuring its operation continues in compliance with regulatory parameters, bringing further benefit to the regional economy and local community.”

Jo van Moer, CEO of Van Moer Logistics, adds: "With the majority holding of Antwerp East NV, we want to actively shape the future development of the terminal. Due to its proximity to many freight flows in Flanders, Antwerp East was developed at a very good strategic location and can be operated as a very resource-efficient inland port with inland navigation services to Antwerp and Rotterdam in order to avoid numerous truck transports every day."
